The club meets for 9 months of the year at St Gabriel's Church and Family Centre, Havant Road, Walthamstow, London E17 3JF. There are no meetings in January, August and December.

 

Meetings start at 19:30 to 21:30 (doors open at 19:00 - meetings with external speakers start at 19:15).

 

Visitors will be asked to pay £5.00 each meeting.

 

The meetings are held in the small hall unless otherwise specified. The entrance to the small hall is via the alleyway on the right hand side of the building.

By car:  Havant Rd is a one-way road. No entry from Wood St.

By Public Transport: The nearest overground station is Wood St. The nearest Tube is Blackhorse Rd and a 123 bus to Wood St.

From Leytonstone, Leyton area a W16 bus to Wood St. Market stop.

AGM & REPOTTING WORKSHOP
Annual General Meeting and Spring Repotting Workshop - bring your trees for repotting.  There will be Bonsai pots for sale.

19th Mar 2024  19:30-21:30

REPOTTING & PRUNING WORKSHOP

Discussion on Bonsai soil mixes followed by repotting workshop. Bring your trees, pots, soil, etc for repotting and pruning.

16th Apr 2024  19:30-21:30

AIR LAYERING WORKSHOP
Bring your own trees that you want to Air Layer.

21st May 2024  19:30-21:30

Meeting cancelled due the unexpected temporary closure of St Gabriel's hall.

SUMMER WORKSHOP

Bring along your trees for pruning and wiring. Bonsai trees will be available to purchase at the meeting.

NB: This meeting will take place in the Church and not the small hall. Entrance via the Family Centre.

“UGLY DUCKLING”

Bring along any problem trees that you are finding difficult to style or design. Helpful and constructive advice will be given by a panel of members.

SUMMER SHOW

The club will have a Bonsai display at the Ingatestone Summer Show at Seymour field, New Road, Ingatestone, CM4 0HH. Bonsai starter material and pots will be available to purchase. We try to display not only the refined trees of the more experienced members, but also trees in all stages of training, thereby demonstrating the developmental stages of bonsai. This also gives less experienced members the opportunity to display their trees.
